About the random team generator
A random split is the fairest way to settle teams when nobody wants to be picked last. The shuffle is Fisher–Yates, the same one the live draft lobby uses, so every arrangement is equally likely; players are then dealt out one at a time, so no team is ever more than one player bigger than another.
Random is fair, not balanced. If your group has two clear best players, a shuffle can put them together. The fix leagues use is a captains’ draft: name a captain per team and let them pick in turn. That is exactly what a LiveDraft-It room does: everyone joins from a link, captains pick on their own phones, and the whole group watches the teams fill up.

How does the random team generator split players?
It shuffles the list with a Fisher–Yates shuffle, then deals names out like cards: first to team 1, then team 2, and around again. With 11 players and 2 teams you get 6 and 5. Nothing is weighted, so every split is equally likely.
Can I make balanced teams instead of random ones?
Not with a shuffle alone. For balanced sides, run a captains’ draft: pick a captain per team and let them choose in turn, snake order so the first pick doesn’t win twice. A LiveDraft-It room runs that live, with everyone picking from their own phone.
Is it free?

How much does it cost?

Do the people I invite have to pay?
No, and they never will. Everyone you invite plays free, forever. No seats, no per-player fees, no account upsell. Only the person running the draft needs a license, so a twelve-person league's draft costs $9 in total.
Is it a subscription? Does it expire?
Neither. You pay once and the license is yours permanently — no renewals, no expiry, no card kept on file for later.
What features does the license include?
All of them. Every format (snake, standard, auction, hybrid), custom CSV datasets with unlimited rating columns, photos on the board, anonymous auction bidding, live chat, spectating, auto-pick, the template library, and priority support. There is no higher tier to buy.
Do I need to know how to code or use a spreadsheet?

How many people can join a draft?
As many as your format needs. Invite friends by username, set the draft order, and everyone joins the live room from any device — no installs required.
What draft formats are supported?
Standard and snake drafts, budget auctions with anti-snipe and max bids, and a hybrid mode that auctions the top of your board before drafting the rest.
What happens if someone loses connection?
The clock is server-authoritative, so the draft stays in sync for everyone. Anyone who drops can reconnect and resume exactly where they left off, and optional auto-pick keeps things moving on the clock.
Can other people watch our draft?
Yes — flip on public spectating and anyone with the link can follow along pick by pick, live.
Can I use LiveDraft-It from ChatGPT or Claude?
Yes. Add LiveDraft-It as a connector (https://livedraftit.com/mcp) in ChatGPT or Claude and sign in. You can set up drafts from a pasted list or a screenshot of your rankings, add friends, set the order, check the board, and make your pick when you’re on the clock.
